Smart electricity meters – If you have a smart meter that is not manually read, then your energy usage is updated daily and you can monitor your usage in 60 minute intervals. This means you can see how your usage changes when you turn on your TV, or use your washing machine.

Basic meters – electricity and gas. If you have a manually read electricity meter or a gas meter, your usage information for each billing period is displayed in an easy to read graph. This allows you to compare your energy usage and usage charges to previous billing cycles.

Compare your usage – With My AGL IQ, you are able to compare your usage to Similar Homes* and see if you’re using more or less energy on average. And with a completed home profile we can provide you with more relevant energy saving advice and tips, which are more in line with your energy usage and lifestyle.

Set targets to save – Once you’ve created a home profile and begun monitoring your energy usage, you can start making changes to lower your energy usage and save on your bills. By monitoring your energy usage and bill amounts, setting goals and implementing practical tips, you could reduce your energy usage. If you’re an electricity customer with a smart meter that is not manually read, you could also monitor your bill projections as you go.

    I have been with a few different electricity companies before I settled on AGL. They are a fantastic company that are leading the way in the future of electricity.

    Their costs are low, we have seen nowhere near the jump some of our friends have. This site allows you to monitor what you are doing and when, putting you in full control of your bill! Highly recommend!

    I just registered for My AGL IQ online. It was quick and easy to do and it has lots of handy little tips on how to reduce my energy consumption. I’ve only just received a bill, so given I follow through with AGL’s tips, it will be interesting to see how the changes made effect the next bill.

    I wasn’t chosen for this review, but I have been using the AGL IQ for over a month now. I found it very easy to set up and use. It’s pretty much dummy proof. I think the other electricity companies should look into doing this. I have personally recommended this to many friends and families. I love the graphs, they allow you to compare over time and in different ways and compare to others similar.

    So far I have done my IQ home profile and it was so easy to set up it only took a few minutes and the questions asked were very practical and easy to answer.

  • Easy to use and a great way to save

    I was already registered for AGL online so setting up the MY AGL IQ was fast and easy. I love that I can go back and look into my history and also compare my energy usage with similar homes.
    Setting up the profile was simple and it gave me some great tips on saving power. With not having off-peak my bills are always huge, so this is great. One thing I did find by using the history comparison is that although my bill was higher last quarter compared to the same time last year, my usage was a lot lower, so it showed that the increase in my bills is not caused by consumption, but rising prices.

    After reading reviews on here, I thought I would try. I used to work for a power company, so I have a pretty good idea about electricity consumption. ( I will admit AGL were our competitors in the market) I looked at switching and using this device, but AGL made it so difficult it all fell through. We live in a second house on a property, and despite inputting meter numbers and NMI’s they still could not get us transferred. The website was also a little difficult for me to navigate.

  • Second Review - I like My AGL IQ

    This is my second review as I had to wait for another bill to come in. I can now compare 2 bills together to see if my energy consumption is more or less. I love that I can see what time of day I am using the most energy in and on what days. I think it’s great that the breakdown is all there in front of me and it’s easy to read and understand. I will definitely keep using this great tool!

  • •Customers with solar energy systems are unable register. Neither are commercial accounts, those with bulk hot water or those who are registered for Life Support
    •The AGL IQ’s savings goals and tips give good detail. We will profile and assess these in more detail in a future post.
    •The only portal that displays and hourly temperature chart.
    •Like most portals the usage costs do not take into account “other items” on your bill including concessions, discounts, fixed charges and other adjustments
    •You must be an AGL customer.

    We had received our bill but it was a little more expensive mostly due to having a new bub at home trying to keep the house warm. I am using the tips on the site and have set goals to reduce our bills. I thing AGL IQ is a fantastic tool.

  • Usefull tool to get the kids involved

    I’ve stated showing my son My AGL IQ so he can see how much more gas we used compared to a home/family the same as ours average. It’s made him realise we use far too much, considering it’s just for hot water and cooking. He doesn’t seem to complain do much when I ask him to get out of the shower and often asks to check the My AGL IQ web site. Let’s see how the next bill from AGL goes 🙂

  • A good idea for every family

    I have now received my bill and it was a little less than usual which was nice. I will continue to watch our hot water usage as I am sure that will help to assist us to lessen our costs. I was also unaware as I am sure a lot of people are that there are several discounts you can ask for if you are low income family so I will be asking for the energy rebate and the low income family rebate which are both taken directly from your bill per quarter and works out to be $87 per bill, which is a huge amount and will be a lifesaver. So, more knowledge on what you can as for and less hot water usage should see us with a cheaper bill, #1 priority!

  • Very disappointed

    After receiving our first bill after implementing massive changes in the way we use electricity it has actually gone up by $143. I am guessing this is because we were advised to review the plan we were on by an independent advisor and discovered we could have been on a much cheaper plan for many years. Within 6 weeks of moving to the new plan AGL increased our rates. If we were not locked into this new plan we would be moving energy companies. Boo to AGL.
