Smart electricity meters – If you have a smart meter that is not manually read, then your energy usage is updated daily and you can monitor your usage in 60 minute intervals. This means you can see how your usage changes when you turn on your TV, or use your washing machine.

Basic meters – electricity and gas. If you have a manually read electricity meter or a gas meter, your usage information for each billing period is displayed in an easy to read graph. This allows you to compare your energy usage and usage charges to previous billing cycles.

    Love the features and how easy it is to use, being to see how my power usage compares to other similar homes is great too. The power saving tips are awesome and i love the save setting too, overall a great tool and so easy to use 🙂

    I have been with a few different electricity companies before I settled on AGL. They are a fantastic company that are leading the way in the future of electricity.

    Their costs are low, we have seen nowhere near the jump some of our friends have. This site allows you to monitor what you are doing and when, putting you in full control of your bill! Highly recommend!

    I just registered for My AGL IQ online. It was quick and easy to do and it has lots of handy little tips on how to reduce my energy consumption. I’ve only just received a bill, so given I follow through with AGL’s tips, it will be interesting to see how the changes made effect the next bill.

  • Easy as 1, 2, 3.

    I wasn’t chosen for this review, but I have been using the AGL IQ for over a month now. I found it very easy to set up and use. It’s pretty much dummy proof. I think the other electricity companies should look into doing this. I have personally recommended this to many friends and families. I love the graphs, they allow you to compare over time and in different ways and compare to others similar.

    So far I have done my IQ home profile and it was so easy to set up it only took a few minutes and the questions asked were very practical and easy to answer.

  • Easy to use and a great way to save

    I was already registered for AGL online so setting up the MY AGL IQ was fast and easy. I love that I can go back and look into my history and also compare my energy usage with similar homes.
    Setting up the profile was simple and it gave me some great tips on saving power. With not having off-peak my bills are always huge, so this is great. One thing I did find by using the history comparison is that although my bill was higher last quarter compared to the same time last year, my usage was a lot lower, so it showed that the increase in my bills is not caused by consumption, but rising prices.

  • No more bill surprises!

    I love these type of apps. It means no more surprises when bills come in, and I can look at our usage and ensure we – as a family are doing all we can to reduce our carbon footprint.
    I especially love the graphs, as it enables me to see how our use fluctuates per billing period and budget more or less to the bill accordingly.
    Hints and tips are great, and I have learnt that we are a bit naughtly with our hot water service and gas heating.
    All in all a great app and well worth the effort of logging into. AGL are a forward thinking company and I have been a customer for years!

  • difficult to set up

    I am an AGL member, have been able to log into my AGL online account – view my account details etc – but can not log into the MY AGL IQ part to complete my details e.g. profile. I’ve called up AGL and they said it was pretty simple, but I’ve still had no luck. Was keen to test this our fully, but since I can’t set up my profile, guess I won’t be able to reap any benefits.

  • Second review after a few weeks of using

    I have found that I am more conscious of the ways I waste electricity and am making more of an endeavour to minimise my energy usage. After receiving a high bill last quarter I enjoy tracking my energy usage and comparing it to previous periods of the same season as well as different. I am hoping that my next bill is more of an improvement in terms of costs due to the tips and support given on the site.

  • Still having access issues

    So I have been trying for the last month to access AGLIQ, with no luck. I have access to MyAGL, and can see my connection, contact and payment details, but when I click on the link to AGLIQ, it leads me to an error page.
    It is disappointing, as I think it sounds like a very useful innovation!

  • We made a saving or did we?

    Our electricity bill has arrived so I have just logged into my agl and was really happy to see that we have actually made some savings. Our usage was down 18.8% and charges down 14.2% ($29.59). My query though with the comparison is it is comparing “bill period shown” and “previous bill”. I would think for it to be a true bill comparison that it should compare the same bill period to the 12month previous (ie. same time of year/season). You can’t compare a winter period bill with a summer period bill. Would be interested to get AGL thoughts on that

  • Really good idea

    Very good idea. It’s not something I’d use all the time. Handy to be able to pay the bill there without needing account details etc. Would be good if it could take into account seasons for example of course we use less gas in Summer than in Winter. Will give it a go for a little while longer.

  • A useful tool

    It’s been almost a month since I signed up for My AGL IQ (I had to repost my previous review after realising I’d left it in the wrong spot!!) and I have to admit I haven’t logged into look at it often. I think it will be easier to guage any savings at the end of the billing period.
    There are some great tips on saving energy, as well as good energy saving products available, and it the graphs do help you visualise the savings to be had, and motivate you to use less energy.

  • A great way to save

    I was selected to review AGL IQ, and have found the set up pretty easy. It does take a little time to go through and set your goals and check off ways you already conserve energy but it looks like it will help us keep track of our goals.
    Unfortunately I have just switched to another electricity supplier (altough we will be with AGL until September) as they (Origin) offered a bigger discount. I called AGL and they couldn’t even come close to matching the deal, especially as we are solar customers.
    I look forward to using AGL IQ to learn some tips to save us even more $ in future.

  • I find the AGL IQ website is fairly easy to navigate. Setting up profile was a breeze. I like the fact that we can compare our energy usage with other similar size households. The ways to save tips are good, but most consist of the things that I believe many already have done

    I just got my bill and it looks like I have saved a bit of money. I thought it would be a bit more savings but every little bit helps. It would be interesting to see in a few months time , if i have saved more and more on my bills.

  • I love this product, it helps me to save.

    My AGL IQ helps me to save in both electricity and gas, as I use both of these. I have 3 adults and 3 children in my house, I would and have recommended AGL to all my family members and my nephew just signed up for AGL for the home they live in for all there electricity. I use gas for cooking and I am cooking every day sometimes more than once, my youngest grand daughter loves to help me cook biscuits and cup cakes during the day, so yes I love cooking with gas I find it has a more instant cooking control for cooking, unlike electricity you have to wait for the heat to turn down, with gas it is instant.

  • i find it a little confusing and its hard to fill in your goal when you have only been a customer for 4 months. i didnt enjoy using the app. i found it a little daunting and after visiting a few times, nothing has really changed. i dont think i will be using this in the near future. maybe in a year when i have been a customer for a while so i can compare my gas usage for the year.

  • Interesting product

    I just logged onto My AGL IQ for the second time since setting it up. I think I will get more out of it when I get my next bill which will be in about three weeks as I will be able to compare my gas heating usage this winter with last winter. But there are still interesting features to use, especially the comparison tool. Was good to see we are using less gas then a comparable efficient house.

  • Loyal AGL consumer

    I have been with AGL for more than 6 years now and they are always the cheapest energy rates and offers many discounts for customers. AGL IQ was pretty easy to use and gives a clear view of your energy usage and comparison to your neighbourhood usage too. But i think the advices are quite common sense and most household would have known. It would not have been much useful for me because I am already saving as much electricity and gas as I could.
    I also realised that AGL sometimes can be a little confusing with their energy consumption rates and they make a lot of mistakes al the time. I always have to call them up to clear the matter…:(

  • Makes me aware

    So I have received my first bill since using AGL IQ, though I don’t think it will really count as it was already on its way when I signed up. But I have used less power then my last bill so maybe it has started working a little. I have found though that since using AGL IQ I am more awre of the power that I am using and am trying to turn power points off where I can and try and cut down the cost of our bill. I think this is a great idea and it is rather simple to use!!!

  • Unable to access

    I have been unable to access MyAGL IQ. I thought this may have been perhaps because my accounts had not yet transferred from my previous supplier. My gas account transferred earlier this week, and I am still unable to access the program, despite having an active account. My electricity account is due to transfer in the next week or so, so I will try again once this has occurred.

  • Excelent and easy to navigate your way through the program to set it up would recomend you use it.

    I found setting up my AGL IQ easy. Completing the profile couldn’t be any easier, definitely recommend AGL to all my family, I have already. I found that I had already been saving on both electricity and gas, even though I had 3 adults and 3 children under 18 In the house hold. I taught my grandchildren to turn of the appliance they were not using and they would get a special treat, and if they didn’t I would turn it of myself and they didn’t get to use it for a week. The tips are great even though I was already using some of them.

    Setting up and navigating around the site was easy. I think i would have to wait for my bill to arrive to see if this is all worthwhile. I received a letter from AGL saying that they are increasing their rates. Well this has come just in time, so i and trying to save money and they are hiking the prices higher. So i will have to try even more harder to save energy.
