  • I like the idea of using kids paintings and artwork as book covers, with clear plastic or contact over the top so it doesn’t get damaged. If you’ve got the time to do it, that is. Depending on how many kids you’ve got, and how many books they each have, it could easily turn in to an all-day event.

  • At least book wrapping only occurs once a year usually.

  • I hate contact, we try paintings they have done then plastic or contact over them, personalise them.

  • I love the plastic covers you can just stick your books in with no cutting, sticky taping or contact required.

  • I like the brown paper wraps stamped with ink.

I remember when I was young, school book wrapping was a day out of our mother’s life – made her own glue, books wrapped in brown paper, labels glued – nothing fancy back then.

  • can remember I once had a teacher that made you cover your book in plain brown paper with you name 2 inches or so from the top right hand corner and so many inches in etc. Every child had to present their book and every day for about three days he tore off every ones covers. My mum covered one and to her anger he tore off hers as well and told me to recover the book, mum turned the brown paper over and reused and renamed the book and he once again ripped off the cover but noticed the name etc on the other side, after that my books were fine, lucky for him though as my mum was ready to march down to school and tear his cover off. te he

    • Yes! I remember a teacher of mine doing this too. It was like military precision with the positioning of the name, everything had to be exact. Covers ripped off, yes that happened too if it didn’t pass inspection. Wow, flashbacks.

Years later I used to cover books in foil, used to rustle when I’d open them hehe
