Kelly Clarkson, who won the first season of American Idol, is expecting. “I’m pregnant!!!” she tweeted on Nov. 19. “Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever.”
The 31-year-old singer married her husband, Brandon Blackstock, a month ago in a small ceremony in Tennessee. She looked about to burst from happiness, and now we know why.
“I really dig the mom thing,” said Clarkson, who already has part-time care of her husband’s two children, Savannah, 12, and Seth, 6. “My kids love her,” his ex-wife Melissa said. “I couldn’t ask for a better stepmother for my children.”
Last week, she gigglingly deflected pregnancy questions on The Tonight Show. “We are not announcing anything right now! We’re not, no,” she said. “We have two kids. And they’re so great,” she said. “I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five.”
As she added, they were working on it. “Practice makes perfect!” she said. “We’re trying, trying, trying … like rabbits!”
