Aghhh Doctors - Real Mum story on MoM

I know, I know that doctors are good and useful, but I have to have a vent. Today I took Master 4 to my local clinic as he had suddenly started to lose control of his bladder and was having trouble making it to the toilet. So I went to my local clinic and was seen in the treatment room by a nurse. She took a urine sample which showed white blood cells in his urine, so we were booked into see a doctor at 4pm. Anyway, we were there waiting and finally got into see the doc at 4.45pm (45 minutes late) we were in the doctors rooms. Now, this doctor isn’t our regular doctor, but seriously, how hard is it to read the notes and see that we had already been into the treatment room and he had already had his urine tested. I just found the whole exercise frustrating, and the doc seem disinterested and didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. He didn’t even look at my son, or examine him and his accent made the whole situation even more challenging. It was just a very frustrating day all up xx

It is hard to find a good Dr that actually listens and cares. I don’t know why some of them even became Drs

I know accents don’t mean anything about the dctor’s skills, but they certainly can make it harder to feel you’re getting good information.

There sure are some rude Drs around. Ones that have no bedside manners whatsoever. It makes you not want to see them and detest the times you have to see them

I love my doctor he is so great and has all the time in the world for all my family only problem is the waiting times you always have to ring around your appointment time to see how far behind he is because its normaly around 2 hrs later you get in to see him have waited 3 hrs after my appointment before but I just always know he will never be on time so whatever time I get always say ok that’s at least another hr past this time.

I understand your frustration. Most doctors can be like this and I could talk for hours regarding issues that I have dealt with that would leave you speechless. Most doctors just work on getting people in and out so they turn over more money. I will not leave a doctors now without making sure that blood pressure and check over is done. You can find a doctor that not only cares but does have the old fashion work ethic, you just have to find them. Once you do, do not see anyone else but them.

Sounds like a challenging experience. If you’re not happy, maybe you should try another clinic?
