Hello!

We are having an Australian Day party starting at 5pm with 34 people so far coming over for a BBQ and I would dearly love any tips or tricks on how to make it one for our guests to never forget.

Thankfully most or all our friends are within walking distance so alcohol is not an issue and from the point of view of food I have most of the finger food and BBQ worked out thanks to some awesome Australia Day Recipes sent in by MoMs.

Things is what entertainment can MoMs suggest which will make my 2014 Australian Day party stand out from the rest. All suggestions greatly appreciated.

  • Blaxland riverside park it was really fun. Went there a few times for different occasions. So blessed to live pretty close by.

  • I attended one of my friend’s BBQ party and it was in the park. It was spacious and lots of room for games too.

  • Depending on the weather where you live, the size of your yard and the age/fitness of your guests, there is nothing more fun than a ‘water bomb skirmish’.
Get the water bomb balloons filled and ‘stored’ in buckets out of sight.
Get your guests to wear their swim suits or ‘older casual clothes’.
All names in a hat to ‘pick teams’ and then let rip.
When you receive a ‘direct hit’ resulting in the balloon bursting on contact, you then sit out till there is a ‘last man standing’.
Then do it all again – till you run out of balloons or energy.
