Hello!

My daughter is 6yrs old and still wets the bed and continually has accidents in her pants. She is the type of girl who does not want to miss out on anything even if it means going to the toilets for a few minutes! It is very frustrating as I’ve tried to encourage her to go to the toilet and she still wets her pants! Sometimes I can smell it and she says she hasn’t done an accident until I say show me your pants and she has poo in them! I try to be supportive but she doesn’t seem to be getting any better! We decided to take away the pull ups at night and there were 3days in a row with no bed wetting, then back again to wetting every night. She is a very heavy sleeper and does not wake to go to toilet. I have tried no drinks late at night and she always goes to toilet before bed. I also have tried waking her up but she is so tired and half asleep it just does not work. Do I put her back in pull ups or do i Persue it a little longer? She doesn’t want to go back to pull ups as she feels she is a big girl now!

  • I would try a Dr visit, just to rule out an underlying cause. I wet the bed until the age of 12, I grew out of it, but your daughter doesn’t just wet the bed. It’s a bit worrying

  • have you seen the kylie mat. Its an large mat that goes under the child just in case of accidents. We used this for my son i felt putting a nappy back on was only going backwards.
