We are Carers of 2 of cour Grandies ,13 &4 .Wow times have changed since we raised our children .Technology is the biggest .We gave our 13yr old a touch mobile ,she’s a good girl but I fear that strangers on line will con her .I have talked but not sure if she understood the dangers .We only had landline phone now so many phones touch pads ,it gets hard keeping up .Don’t want to snoop or demand see who she’s chattingceith on Facebook ,but we dont want her hurt either .Times have definitely changed .!

Kids need to be do careful online nowadays. There are way too many con artists masquerading as someone else.

Technology is definitely everywhere and kids are across it. Adults need to be to across it as well; to protect kids. Parents/grandparents/carers need to friend their kids on facebook; this is a good rule when they are young. Outline rules for social media; a code; no swearing, bullying, inappropriate pictures, etc. Establishing these rules assists kids with making good and wise choices about content. Also have a frank discussion about social networking and use of technology and your expectations. Always ensure privacy settings on all technology is set on high. Good Luck!
