Christmas - from relaxing to chaos - Real Mum story on MoM

We had planned a quiet family Christmas with lunch with my mum and dad at my sisters place. This afternoon my parents in law told us (no warning at all – in fact only a few days ago they had said they had posted presents, and we’re unable to travel) that they are arriving on 22 Dec from interstate, staying with us, coming to my sisters, and then travelling with us on boxing day to spend a week with us at a holiday house we had organised. Nothing I can do but get on with it and turn our relaxing Christmas into jumping to in laws tune. Looking forward to 2016…

Poor you! I hope you can still have fun.. could be a positive that you have babysitters whilst your on holiday!!! : )

Ops! That’s quite unexpected. But is it “normal” that they invite themselves without talking to you first? Did it already happen before?
I would probably be fine for Christmas, but the idea that they come with you on holiday for a week… I find it very distressing!

  Yeah, the Christmas bit is ok – they have done that before. The rest is new, but as it is what they want (and I know my husband won’t want to “upset his mum” I just need to endure and look forward to another trip away. Far from ideal, but at least it has a time limit – they won’t be here for too long!!!

Oh no!!!!!! Feeling your pain….but I hope it turns out ok! All the best (and breathe deep and count to ten). When all else fails, there is always wine hahahaha
