I have just found out that our school is offering coding as part of the curriculum for year 4 and up in 2016. I am so glad as last year it wasn’t on offer. New staff and coding. Yeah!!!

You’re very lucky your child/children will be offered coding as it’s not offered at many schools, yet is so important.

yeah i believe that this is a great step forward for your school! there has been so much buzz about kids learning coding (programming) and i agree that it will be useful in some form or other. computers and technology is the way forward, no denying that!

What exactly is coding? I have never heard of it as a school subject!!

  Computer programming, designing apps, computer games etc, and this is just the beginning. I am sure it will be necessary for our children as they grow and enter the workforce.

  It’s great for teaching logic and considering IT really will be the future it will be good for kids to learn the skills and understand how it all works.
