My little man has always been an early riser but lately its gottem worse, like between 5.30-6.30!! He goes to bed at 7.30 and always has, I tried doing a later bed time but he struggles to make it any later then that and even if he does go to bed latee, he is still up before the crack of dawn. He has a sturdy bed time routine to de-wind from the day but I dont know what else to do to try and get him to sleep in a just till 7 like he used too

  • There is a special clock that you set to show yellow stars at night which gradually disappear during the night. If they get up before it is bright blue, they have to get up and go to the toilet (no “accidents” that way) and go back to bed until it is bright blue. If they are very thirsty they are allowed a small drink of water, nothing else. There is a glass water put where it can be reached safely.

  • My boys wake early around 5.30 and lucky for me I am an early riser so I don’t mind. I have a friend whose son does the same and she is not a morning person at all. She was advised to keep on taking him back to bed and telling him that it’s still sleep time.

  • There is hope! My kids are older now and sleep in later! If they do get up before me they make their own breakfast and know not to wake me!
