Hello!

I am a part time working mother of a 2 year old who’s husband his FIFO (fly in fly out) and its changed so he actually is coming home every other week thankfully, before this he would come home once every 2 months. I know I shouldn’t get worked up but when I see people talk about their husband being away for 1 night and how hard it is, just think of us. We go weeks and weeks without that extra pair of hands and eyes. To those 24/7 single mums my hat is off to you. Raising a child and working (especially when she doesnt sleep at day care) is a juggling act with too many balls.

  • My husband traveled quite a bit when the kids were young. I got used to it and didn’t mind so much, I actually started to quite enjoy the times he was gone.

  • I take my hat off to you…..I don’t think anyone realises how hard and lonely it can at times. Hang in there, you are doing a great job of holding the fort.

  • I wish my man would go away sometimes……Ha Ha Only joking…..I take my hat off to you. I think your husband may have the best end of the deal at times but look at what he misses out on. Hang in there as these times shall pass quicker than you think!

  • My hubby was defence and it was very challenging as we never knew when he would be going away and for how long.
