So much news coverage on the death of Gene Wilder. And I am so not interested. People die, you’ll die, I’ll die. Famous people due. Non famous people die. Rich and poor people die. Why is it necessary to advertise done people’s deaths? I would be more affected if someone I loved died. So he starred in the Willie Wonka movie that’s so many years old. Still not interested

  • It may not be important to you and that’s ok. But it’s important to other people

  • I’m with you. I think celebrity deaths are over rated. They’re no better then you and I. It’s sad for his family, but I don’t think it deserves the headlines it’s getting

  • Gene Wilder was a wonderful actor and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a much loved family movie. Many people resonate with this movie as it takes them back to their childhood. He was an incredible campaigner in the fight against ovarian cancer and generally an all round pleasant person. Many of his comedic roles in movies are my favourite movies. The death and publicity around celebrities often unites people and people do have a need to publicly grieve and bond together. The need to celebrate a persons life, whether they are a private person or public person is important. I will remember Gene Wilder with much fondness. RIP.
