Hello!

I havent worked since 2011 and have recently decides to go back to work. To do this I have to work at nights as my hubby works days. Its going to be hard. Only place hiring nights in my town is mcdonalds and I am okay with that. Just worried about my hubby and kids adjusting. We are struggling financially and would love to be able to afford a better rental and save for a home loan deposit. Am I selfish for doing this? Will my children adjust fine?

  • Selfish is the last word I’d use to describe you. You’re doing it for the benefit of your family, regardless of how much you don’t really want to do it, or how much you don’t enjoy it. And your family will adjust fine, and won’t everyone be happier with a little more money in the budget! Selfless, not selfish. Good on you for doing this, rather than sitting back and whinging about what’s wrong.
