Hello!

grandma always babysits when needed no matter what time of day it is sometimes looking after six at a time. Each time the children still wanted to go to grandmas even though she set the rules and the grandchildren would behave. When it comes to us parents the children played up and would say are you sending us to grandmas house. I felt like the big bad wolf. Why?

  • My Mum always said she didn’t mind quite so much if we misbehaved a bit a home where she could calmly talk to us and ensure why we weren’t allowed to do or have something. When we were small she would speak to us quitely. When we were old enough rather than say anything if we visiting somewhere or we had visitors Mum would manage to catch our attention and frown at us. She didn’t raise her voice and embarrass the other people, us or her and Dad. I had an Uncle who would yell at his kids in front of everybody no matter where they were.

  • Kids will always behaviour with other people. They test the parents, it is up to us to show them respect, give them time & space to grow, and understand that our rules are there but the children will always test them to see if they are 100% in place, or we are just ‘saying so’…
