Hello!

I am a mother of 3 and now a grandmother of 6. Over the years, things have changed dramatically and in many cases, not for the best.
Like many other mums out there I did my best to maintain a healthy diet but in general I really just ate sensibly and drank plenty of water. I considered being pregnant was the most natural thing we do as a woman so I just took it as it came whilst being mindful of my state and the safety of my baby.
Today’s mothers are totally different…….. they seem to be much more anxious about the whole process… don’t eat this and don’t drink that , you can’t do this and shouldn’t do that. I put this down to the minefield of information that the internet and social media bombard them with everyday. Doctor google has a lot to answer for!!
When discussing the topic., I often reflect on the women in the rice paddies who work up to the minute before giving birth, and quite often in rather crude and relatively primitive conditions…….the population of these countries hasn’t suffered as a result of that.
I think too much information has brought about a whole load of unnecessary anxiety for new mums to Be and I would like to see a return of common sense. You can’t believe everything you read, especially given there are so any mixed messages out there.
