Hello!

Don’t know about you all, but I have no intentions of having a first birthday for my little boy. I just see it as an excuse for people to expect gifts, especially when they go inviting every Tom, Dick and Harry to the event. I’m also one of those mums who refused to have a baby shower, because I saw it as another way to ask for things from people. I don’t know….always been of the opinion that if someone wants to buy for the little guy, they don’t need a party to do it. Anyone else feel the same???

  • We had first birthday parties for all our kids – just an afternoon tea with close friends, and we made it clear no presents were expected – that we just felt it was a milestone worth marking. After that, they don’t get parties till they start school.
