Help a stray cat, it will mean so much

I do what I can for animals, I find that they need to be spoken for more often that I like. With so many being neglected and not taken care of, so many being put down in shelters due to over breeding, and those who only want a designer animal and buy from breeders!

So when MC Scrappy came into my life, I immediately knew that I was going to do what I could to make him feel safe. I started to leave out some food where he liked to sleep, and I happily watched as he started to eat it.

It a slow road to get a stray to trust you, as they have either been abused, or screamed at, or just plain neglected by humans in the past, so it takes time to be able to gain their trust.

MC SCrappy, while he still wont allow himself to be touched, does come when called at feeding time, and now spends the day in my yard, where he knows he is safe. I am thankful that he found my yard, and hope I can get enough trust, to get him to a vet to make sure medically he is ok as well.

He is putting on weight, and he is taking better care of his coat, so I am happy with that progress at the very least.

What a lovely person you are. There is way too much animal abuse and neglect out there and they need a voice, they can’t speak up, they need someone to speak up for them. Keep up your good work

it sounds like you are doing well for the cat but there are some that just do not like to be touched unless they feel like it nor some hate to be picked up but you are doing it the right way by letting it come to you in it’s time

It’s great to see that he is doing a lot better with your kind attention. There is so much more I could say about the type of person that would abuse an animal, but I will stop there and just say I think what you are doing is wonderful.

What a beautiful person you are that is just terrific. If there were more people like yourself then this may not be a problem as big as it is. I do exactly the same and cats are a strange creature as most of the ones I have opened my front gate too end up belonging to someone yet 1 cat keeps coming back and lounging on my outdoor couch. I did ring his owners and they were not worried but in the end he did not go home so they had to come and get him. I have also rescued a lot of dogs and some I have given them a home for the night and washed them prior taking them to the shelter.

Love this story 🙂 my husband was given his cat by a friend about..12 years ago now. He’s too old now and wouldn’t take kindly to more additions but when we get a cat next we’ll definitely be going to a shelter to take home an abandoned kitty 🙂 it’s such a nice feeling to know that you’re helping an animal in need, not just paying top dollar for a particular breed or look.

I just think that its far to easy for people to get hold of animals and they don’t understand just how much they cost and the time they need from you as their owner.
To many people do buy dogs and cats just for christmas or birthdays and its so sad, well done to you for helping as much as you can 🙂

You sound like you have the patience for the job Shell. I got one my girls from the lost dogs home, she’s the sweetest little thing (Sorry Kids). I just can’t fathom how people can be cruel to animals. I only have to have the worst day ever and pat one of my girls and all is forgotten. Unconditional love.
