The other night my 2.5yr old daughter came into our room and wanted to get in bed with us, she had a temperature and was grisly, as soon as she laid down in the middle on the bed she vomited, quick thinking hubby whipped the sheets off the bed before it soaked through to the mattress whilst i cleaned up little miss. In the morning he said he would wash the sheets which was nice I thought, once the washing was done I went to empty it and what did I find? He sheets had not been cleaned off before going in the wash, so there was still vomited food in the machine, he also forgot that a nappy was in amongst the sheets that she had vomited on too…. what happens when a nappy get wet? it swells…then it bursts….

Sticky wet gooey silicone type beads from the inner nappy had gone through the whole wash, it actually burnt out the motor, it smelt like burnt plastic all through the house and after cleaning out the machine it now doesn’t spin properly and breaks down. Hubby was so frustrated about it all, he was really trying to be helpful. I think I might do the washing from now on :)

  • Hubbies, they do tend to get themselves in a spot of bother when all they really are trying to do is help.
