I have 2 teenage sons, who every day in the morning before school and at night we have a big hug. I think very often as the kids grow up these things are dismissed and often forgotten about in the busyness of our days. I was chatting to a few mums and they said that they never hug their boys anymore as they don’t want to, and I understand this in a social situation with their peers it could be awkward for the teenager, but how sad that they stopped all together. But for me it is important to show the boys that it is good to have a soft nurturing side. We have a very special bond and it is just lovely that they give me a big hug back and have a smile on their faces.
