On Friday our 12 yr old daughter was started on medication for a tummy problem. Saturday night she came to me with a swollen bottom lip and what looked like a rash around her mouth. I rand the Locum Doctor who came and suggested we give her an Antihistamine. Today she came to me with the same problem but the rash looked purple. I took her to the Emergency Department and the Doctor there was puzzled by its appearance saying it didn’t look like a true reaction but, to be on the same sides top her medication and talk to her Specialist. Exhausted I took her home. When we got home she came to me and said “sorry mummy but I think I know what’s wrong. I saw something on You Tube that said you could make your lips bigger by sucking on a glass”.
So the “rash” is in fact a bruise from her sucking on a glass. But, why didnt she tell me this on Saturday or before I spent 3 hours at the Hospital? I’m sure I will start laughing about it but not yet (I’m too exhausted).
