Hello!

I have two children, however the eldest is almost 20 now, my son, and my daughter is almost 15. But when my son was very young I noticed he bruised very easily (like when he started crawling his little shins would be black and blue) I had him seen to by a pediatrician and he diagnosed my son with Von Willibrands disorder – a bleeding condition. So as the years went on my son (who was also very accident prone) suffered many injuries as his skin would tear like tissue paper. It was all very heartbreaking, and I asked for more answers and my son was again diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which now see’s him keeping himself very active and fit, to prevent the onset of further dislocations due to a lack of collagen. I was wondering if any other Mum’s on here are dealing with the same? Also my daughter has juvenile Scoliosis and is now facing a series of two surgeries in or around September, it breaks my heart as both are the most wonderful teenagers a mum could ask for. <3

  • My kids are still young, and thankfully, we don’t have any health issues. I hope it gets easier for you and your kids soon. Great to hear someone describe their teenagers as wonderful – I bet you are too.
