Hello!

I just wanted to take a few minutes to say a great big THANK YOU to my wonderful dad, lovingly remembered Poppy and all other Service Men and Women who fought so bravely through many battles so that we may have the wonderful nation we have today.

My step dad, Chris McKay, who is is the best father you could ever as for, fought in Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. He enlisted as a 17 year old, lying about his age, so that he could defend Australia and the region. He followed in a long line of enlisted family men that included his Father Harry McKay and uncle Ken McKay. He has had his demons as a result of all that he has seen and done, but he has always proudly worn his digger hat every ANZAC Day as he marches through Sydney streets and celebrates the glory with his mates from 8RAR.

The picture attached is of my dad (right) marching with his life long mate and fellow Digger, Abo.

This year dad will be attending the celebrations for Pa’s (Harry McKay) platoon. Pa’s platoon has only got 2 living members left and the children and grandchildren, along with their extended families are carrying on the tradition for their beloved father’s, grandfathers and family men and women.

Please take a minute today to tell the diggers in your family and country how much you appreciate their sacrifices – for it is them that have made us who we are today.

My family and I are so proud to love our Diggers.

Lest We Forget.
