Recently our little family decided to start our little veggie garden. So on fathers day , as a family we planted our seeds that the kids that picked out earlier that morning. To start they had three pots each. Miss 7 planted snow peas and carrots and rockmelon (with a few flowers). Mr 5 planted his favourite snow peas and cucumber. And Miss 1 got the strawberries (daddiy got the chilli and capsicum and i got ht epotato and pawpaws). For the past few weeks the kids have been looking after them, making sure they are in the sun and watered in the afternoon. and when the first shoots came through they were so excited and were planning how to eat them and planning on giving some to the neighbors and today they helped transfer the plants in to the veggie garden. I am so glad that they are looking forward to eating them and its teaching them healthy eating.

  • Such a fantastic interest for the children & you get to reap the rewards. I wish we had the room for a vegetable garden but we only have a paved courtyard so am growing herbs in pots. I hope your vegetables prove fruitful :)

  • It really is fun isn’t it! – summer veges are so much easier than winter I think, all my winter veges were attacked by bugs and slugs!
