I am a technophobe. There I have confessed and it hasn’t cost me a therapist. I never knew that I would be, I just turned out that way. I have the attitude that a machine is designed to do a job, it should do it without failing or being slow and without prompts. Unreasonable, I hear you say. Yes, absolutely. But I have no patience for the misbehaving machine. I don’t know its language and I don’t want to know.
Being a technophobe is a frustrating trait because life would be easier if I had a chat to the machine in machine language and sorted out the issue or called the right person to sort out the issue. Funnily enough, like everyone else, I use a computer at work and am often sorting out issues caused by machine malfunction. I hope that my office is soundproof!
My children will soon be laughing at me and chastising me for being so old and out of touch. And I will say “In my day”… At least they will be able to fix the machine.
