Hello!

It’s been 4 years since I moved interstate, away from my family. I have lived in Melbourne for nearly 30 years and it was time for a change. Although I had my daughter in melb it always felt like I was drifting away from my family. Many friends had moved on and we hadn’t made contact for ages. Now that I have moved, I feel like I am closer to my family and friends than ever before. There is a constant effort on making sure we ring one another for a chat and also make the effort to visit. It feels like moving interstate has made us all become closer, why couldn’t things be like that before? I think you take things for granted when you live around one another, its nice that there is more effort now to contact each other but now it makes it harder as I’m always far away and can’t get my much needed hugs!

  • It is a shame that it takes distance to realise how important relationships are with family and friends. At least everyone realises and is keeping in touch.
