Hello!

In order to get my kids moving in the mornings, I now challenge them to get ready before I do. It’s amazing how a bit of competition has them focussed on getting ready on time! No more daydreaming, can’t find this or that or any I forgots. They want yo beat mum!

  • As children ourselves we had a routine that we had breakfast, cleaned our teeth, did our lunches and checked our school bags (we usually put thiongs back in it when we finished with them the night before) and got dressed while Mum did the dishes. Mum would often call out “come on children hurry up and get ready for school” A budgie we were minding for 6 months learnt to say it too. Now I have a similar routine with mine. Uniforms apart from socks are already out (somebody doesn’t always put dirty ones straight into the washing ggrrr!!!).

  • Great idea! with my kids i usually get it all rready the day before. Lay out clothes pack the school bags, preprpare lunches other than sanwiches etc. that way all they have to do is eat and get changed and brush their teeth. so much easier for me.
