Hello!

My son now is almost aged four. When he was 18 months old he discovered…ummm.. how to rub his doodle on his belly. Since he’s been doing this for ages and especially when he wants to put him self to sleep. I have taken him to the doctor about this and he told me it was normal and not to worry a thing about it.

What gets me is my son will do it when ever he feels like it. It does not bother him, if we have guests over. I’m a single mum and he does not have a father figure in his life so I would like to know if any one else has experienced this and how you went about solving this issue.

  • Firs of all he is not being naughty. He has discovered this gets yor attention when you are otherwise occupied. Next time he does this, ignore it and hand him a puzzle or something to get is mind and hands working on something else. When you are out take a colouring book and some pencils or stickers and sticker book. If he does this to put himself to sleep let him be. What he does in the privacy of his room is his business…even at his young age. Good grief even some grown men can’t leave it alone! The more attention he gets for this the more it will do it. At bedtime you might like to read him a story before bedtime and have him hold the story book.
