It’s funny that when your children start talking you almost automatically know what they are saying, even when everyone else is lost. Well, most of the time anyway! Recently our 2 year-old has been saying a strange word that not even I can decipher! What is this mystery word?
“Djonga”. See what I mean? As far as I can tell not close to any word I know! Plus he uses it to refer to seemingly different things each day that he uses it, just to make it that much more confusing!
D-jong-A…. One for his baby book anyway. Hopefully one day he will end the mystery for us and be able to tell us what it really is, because I really want to know!

  • I love that earnest look they have on their faces too! After about the 6th attempt (when frustration creeps in for my daughter), I pretend to know what she’s saying so that she doesn’t feel completely disillusioned. Very cute though.

  • And most of the time they have no idea either – it can often just be a good collection of sounds that they like :)
