Hello!

I took my King Charles Cavalier Spaniel to the vet the other day for his regular vaccinations and yearly check-up. He has always been a happy healthy little dog and I didn’t have any concerns taking him in. Unfortunately as the vet checked his heart he found that our little dog has a heart problem. Sadly, although this would be operable in humans, it is not operable in dogs.

Our dear little dog now has a rather uncertain future. This condition is common in cavvies and is something I was not really aware of before. We did obtain him from a registered breeder and so I thought we would avoid such problems.

Needless to say the whole family is very sad about this and we are hoping he won’t have too many problems or suffer. I can’t even imagine the day that we will have to say goodbye to him.

  • Thank you ClareBear. We are trying to be positive. Had a cry last night though. But we wouldn’t have missed the time with him, he is gorgeous.

  • I had a Cavvie that was given to us. He died from what could only be described as a heart attack because it wasnt picked up by us and the previous owner chose not to disclose it. I am glad that you have found out and that you are processing it rather well if I do say so myself. It is heartbreaking when part of your family, feline/canine or human, have medical conditions with uncertain futures. I hope you do not have to say goodbye too soon
