Hello!

Walking in the shopping center, a lady bent over and started speaking to my 2 year old. She doesn’t say much but today she copied what I’ve said when I stubbed my toe! ” sh*t, sh*t mum”. To say the least I was very embarrassed!

  • Oh gosh it’s amazing what they pick to copy isn’t it! Just so you know I would find it funny if I had a kid say that to me though :) it only had to come out once and they catch on

  • Kids can be so funny… my sister when we were young was in the supermarket with my Mum (she was 3 ish at the time) walking down the pet food isle (not long prior to this supermarket trip my parents had put down the family cat due to health complications) & my sister pipes up in that shrill 3 year old voice “we don’t need to buy cat food any more because we killed out cat”. Mum was rather embarrassed to say the least.

  • Often these words are repeated because they are said with such animation and expression.

  • That is funny, it could’ve been worse if you know what I mean

  • Ha! Ha! That must have been embarrassing! We’d better check out our words when kids are around!! ;-)

  • Its all part of learning and growing up – they hear this stuff out and about (and at times from us too) despite our best efforts. Treat it as a humorous learning curve for the both of you – its not that big a deal – and no doubt she learned and will not say that again. At least she isn’t like a toddler I knew who loved stickers and couldn’t say the word properly – they went around in a loud voice calling “My dick! my dick!” when ever they saw anyone with a sticker – so embarrassing for the mum!
