I agree with you 100% and am just as alarmed as you that there are any parents that find it ok to leave their children in the car for any length of time irrespective of what they have to get done or whether it is hot or not! Yes it does take longer to grab that bottle of milk or loaf of bread if you need to get the kids out and yes paying for fuel can seem hardly worth it with children, but either take them in or don’t do it. There is NO excuse and your right it is illegal. Good on you for speaking up to this woman, not many would have and i have to be honest and say im not sure i would have had the nerve. More people need to take responsibility because it is illegal and is neglect!!

  • Gone are the days where you got driveway service at a service station.
I had a problem putting more air in the tyres on more than one occasion and ended up with an almost flat tyre. One of the console operators helped me with it when the petrol bowsers weren’t being used.

  • Yes, good on you for saying something, too many people don’t speak up when needed for fear of reprisal, as a result the wrongs keep being done. There is no reason to EVER leave your children in the car alone, no matter how long it is

  • Also; people can be charged quite substantially for this act!

  • I also find this alarming and distressing! It is a definite NO! NO!

  • Now my kids are older (7 & 8), I run in and pay for fuel but they still come out if it’s the shops, etc.

  • It seems to be happening more and more often. It’s alarming that the message isn’t getting through to parents.
