My 2 1/2 year old daughter has been diagnosed with Sleep apnoea. She stops breathing (which I have witnessed) every few hours when asleep for up to 3 seconds before gasping awake. Its horrific! She has surgery next week to remove tonsils and adenoids in an initial attempt to deal with it. The hospital did not put her down as urgent and I struggle with this. How can a toddler stopping breathing and not using any assistance like a CPAP machine etc not be classed as urgent. I hope and pray that this surgery resolves the issue although info I have received has also told me the lack of sleep has probably affected her brain activity and learning ability. My poor sweet angel
