Hello!

18 months ago we packed up our house and embarked on a journey to move to a new area. We had always lived around the same location all our lives but something was telling us it was time for a change. My husband was lucky enough to obtain a full time good paying position and so the decision to move came quite quickly. We left our family, friends and everything familiar to move to a suburb we’d never even heard the name of. We tried to stay connected to our old area and friends however everytime we reached out it seemed to move further away. Recently I have had to resign to the fact that those friends are no longer part of our lives. It seems when we moved away – they moved away from us. Although I miss the friendships I think it is for the best. Hubby is still going well in his job, we love the new location we are in, and we are slowly making connections and friends. It has been a long process but we are finally starting to feel comfortable. Starting a new is scary but worth it if it feels right!

  • That often happens in life. We think we have strong connections with people, then we move house, change schools or jobs and then we realise just how close we really weren’t

  • We have moved a few times with our daughter – always for husbands work too. It’s so very important to embrace your new neighbourhood. Enjoy the challenge and you won’t look back soon enough. Sounds like you are doing well – I’m glad to hear you are looking forward with your life and not looking back. True friends will be with you for life no matter where in the world you are.
