Hello!

I am lucky enough to be involved in a company who support the kids cancer project. It is a phenomenal charity who raise millions to help fight kids cancer and find a cure! They work very close with all those involved in the cancer journey.

On Wednesday night we held a charity even with live auctions, silent auctions, raffles and head shaves! We are hoping the tally arrives at $20 000. It was an amazing night seeing people come together to promote an amazing cause and raise money for the kiddies who need our help.

I was a behind the scenes worker helping to organise the event and get donations but I think if I can raise $5 000 in donations I may just shave my hair off too!

  • Well Done.
I found out that oncology depts at some hospitals give patients who lose their hair, beanies that have been donated. I lady I know was taking her husband to hospital every day for a few weeks and knitted some while she was waiting to take hom home. Adults and teenagers were treated at that hospital. When I found out I used up left over part balls and knitted some, some other staff members donated some, then I bought some on special and knitted them up. My Mum did some too. Those that were a bit small were going to be for children who were in hospital for other reasons. Children having chemo went to a childrens’ hospital.

  • I think most people are willing to contribute to a good cause, if it’s within their means.
