Hello!

My mother in law died in November 2005. She left a house on 100 acres, on 4 separate titles. This package was to be sold and the money divided up between her children. Even though it’s been coming for 10 years, it was up for sale before mils death, when I heard the news I cried. It honestly felt like I had just been told she had died. I was devastated, along with my partner and our children. Unfortunately, after 10 years of mounting debt (council rates, land tax etc) not to mention 2 of her daughters are claiming money for looking after their mum (who wants to be paid to do this?!?! They both worked and had paid time off to care for mil, not to mention mil ALWAYS paid her way!) so none of the beneficiaries are expecting to get much, even tho it sold for $340 000. At least we can fi ally put all the bitterness behind us when this is finalised. A death in the family really brings out the nastiness!

  • Very sad when families argue over money when a person has died.

  • It’s so sad! Why does this happen? :-(
It’s really true that when someone dies, you find out the real character of people.
I hope that now you will be able to put everything behind.

    • It is such a shame and I have seen it tear families apart.

  • It divided our family when my dad died in 2009. None of us siblings talks to the other. Even tho mum is alive, she does nothing to encourage us to speak. And to think it will most likely happen all over again when my passes
