Hello!

My little boy’s dentist noticed that his only filling had fallen out. Over the next week or so hadn’t complained of any pain so fortunately root canal was ruled out. I was shocked to think that a five year old may need root canal intervention. I was told by the dentist that he needed to keep this tooth as it was one that normally fell out of its own accord around twelve years of age and to pull it out prematurely would effect and impact on the other teeth’s alignment. So the big day came and he ended up having a cap. He was doped up with happy gas and movies which was fine until afterwards when the tingles and pain set in. He was very disorientated and unable to understand why everything felt numb and horrible. I hope this experience has not put him off going to dentists in the future.

  • Hopefully by the time he needs more dental treatment, this visit will be a distant memory and gave no lasting effect on his future visits. As long as it wasn’t painful or traumatic for him, I doubt it will last as a negative experience
