What is a home? - Real Mum story on MoM

Growing up we moved around a bit due to dad’s work. The first move was to go to the seaside due to my brother’s health as it turned out that living in a dusty air was not good for him and the sea air would be better. Dad had to leave his job and never really settled after that.

As we lived in different types of housing, I got use to moving never settling or being in any place for long. I was hoping when I grew up I would learn to live in one place. Not a chance married a man who liked to move and so learned to live in some more different places.

So in all I have lived in houses (various types), flats, units, hotel rooms, converted horse float, caravan, tent, cane farm, sedan car and a trimaran. Who is to say what a home should be, the only ones not by choice were the car and trimaran, I am hoping my children get to live in reasonable housing and never have to know what some of these places are like.to live. My oldest has experience some of these as a young child took it in his stride. The trimaran is another story.

A home is normally a building you live in, that hopefully you enjoy and can relax in. However a home comes in many forms. Some live in caravans, motorhomes or cabins on a permanent or temporary basis for many years. I don’t think I would like to live on a boat floating in water. I like my feet firm on the ground as my balance isn’t 100% at the best of times. There are a few families who live in converted train carriages.

What an interesting time you must have had growing up, living in all those new places. Difficult to settle and make friends tho. At least it made you determined to nit have it this way fir your own children

Gosh that sounds troublesome moving around. Hope everything turns out well and you can find a permanent place to stay for good.
