My family have been struggling for the last 6 months after our car died. We have a two year old daughter who is majorly disabled. She has a rare gene mutation that causes her to have daily seizures and she has lots of appointments to get to. So for us travelling to the hospital it would take 2.5 hours just to get to her hospital appointments. 5 hours of our day just in travelling time. Anyway I was lucky enough to get a step up loan through the NAB bank which was $3,000. We also received a pay out of $5,000 as well so we had $8,000 to buy a decent car which I have never had before. We were looking for a few days and there just wasn’t anything decent.
We then decided to look on one of the main roads near us that had about 10 car yards. The first car yard we went to was Grand Nissan at Morphett Vale. Straight away we were treated amazingly. My 3 year old was given some money to put in the vending machine for lollies and some chips by the store manager. We told him what we were looking for and we were lucky enough that they were detailing a VY Equipe (2003). So we went and had a look at it and fell instantly in love. We asked how much they wanted and they told us $11,000. Instantly our hearts sank. We told them we couldn’t afford that much and explained our situation with our daughter Eva. Straight away we were told we will work something out so you can afford it. We were taken to their office. They told us we could buy the car for $8,000. we were in shock….. the car had only done 92,000 kms, was immaculate, and was a light colour which we needed for Eva as the sun light makes her seizures worse. They then said they would tint the back two windows the darkest shade they could for free, they took $100 off a blue tooth that we wanted to be installed, and they filled the car full of petrol which would have cost near on $100. They then took my partner home in one of their own cars so we could bring our girls car seats to put in the car. Lets just say the day was a very emotionally one and even a few of the male workers were getting choked up about our lives with our daughter. The new owner of the business came out and talked to us as he was the one to approve the discount. He told us he would give us cost price parts when needed and half price servicing. He then looked at the log book and said he would do the 100,000 service for free. Again the tears flowed and Danielle one of the female staff started to cry with me.
We took the car home very happy customers. The next morning I got an early phone call which had me thinking who’s calling me at this time. It was the lovely lady Danielle the lady who talked to us about the blue tooth, she told me she had called her boss the night before asking if they could do anything to help us out. He told her that they would tint the whole car windows with cancer council grade tint for free. I broke down and started crying.
I also received friend requests from three of the staff members and one of them Troy wrote on a picture i posted on face book that if anyone that knew me bought a new or used car from them that they would give us $150 per sale. I couldn’t believe how big these peoples hearts are.
I then received a phone call a few days later from another staff member Mark because the day was really hot and he was concerned for Eva. He said that he thinking of my family every day and wishes us well.
I am still shocked at how nice these people have been and how helpful they are. This proves that there are still some heart felt people in this world.
Sorry for the long story I just wanted to tell a positive story.
