I used to work in a pretty high stress job in publishing – lots of tight deadlines, long hours, stressful event organising and efforts to keep authors happy. Then of course there was the choking and writing of reports, discussions with the accounts department. But not even that prepared me for the sleep deprivation and anxiety of having a toddler. Early mornings, late nights, odd times being up during the night, constant running around. I am the entertainment, caterer, accounts, cleaner, social coordinator – a bit of a one woman band. Oh, I get help from my husband and family but that just keeps me sane (although that is debatable most of the time too!). But I wouldn’t change it for the world. Work might have been easier but it was never as rewarding as the beaming smile from my daughter
