The Creepy Halloween Costumes of Yesteryear Freaking People Out

Facebook page Witches Night shared these vintage Halloween costumes and people are totally freaked out by them!

The images of children and adults dressed in old fashioned costumes have people saying they would never even open the door if kids turned up looking like this today!

The post has attracted over 145,000 shares and nearly 7000 comments including,

“The only reason these look scary to us modern people is because we live in a time of horror films that have ruined us , people back then would have not viewed these as creepy they would have found them funny/silly nobody would have been scared to see kids like this , it would have brought people joy.”

Back in those days, the costumes would have looked nearly normal as nearly all children would have worn farm gear, but parents would have been scared at the costumes our children wear these days.

Oh wow, they sure did show the true meaning of Halloween back in the day. These costumes are by far, hands down superior to today’s wishy washy efforts

These are very creepy. I’d probably turn off all lights, hide the car and pretend I wasn’t home that night.

I’m a big scaredy cat and still haunted by Freddie Kruger and Poltergeist from my teens. Not planning on dressing up in any creepy costumes soon.

Wow.. they do look very creepy. I think the black and white photos make them look worse than they really are though.
