The Wiggles have added yet another new face to their ranks, and this time they’re keeping it in the family! The newest Wiggle is Lucia, the daughter of Blue Wiggle Anthony Field.

The 18-year-old has, of course, donned the blue skivvy of her famous father, who is the only remaining original Wiggle.

The Wiggles shared the news on social media, with an adorable throwback image of Lucia as a tot, holding the hand of Dorothy the Dinosaur. The teenager has just completed three years with the Australian Ballet School and will now join her dad on stage as an official member of The Wiggles

However, Anthony says it wasn’t actually his idea for Lucia to join the group.

“When we were after another Blue Wiggle it wasn’t me that suggested it – it was our sound man Al who said, ‘You know that Lucia sings’ – and I said I never knew that,” Anthony told The Daily Telegraph.

“Honestly, I’d never heard her sing, but she was coming in and doing backing vocals and Al said she’s got a great voice – and I went ‘okay’. I didn’t even think she would want to do it – so I asked her ‘would you like to be the other Blue Wiggle – there’s no pressure at all’”.

Her reply was just as surprising.

“To be fully honest, I’ve never even thought about doing this,” Lucia said. “It definitely caught me by surprise – but I’ve always wanted to perform. I’m very glad it did happen, but I definitely couldn’t have seen it in my future.”

Baby-Antonio's-Circus

OG Wiggles fans may remember a very young Lucia co-starring with her siblings in Baby Antonio’s Circus.

In 2012 Murray Cook, Greg Page and Jeff Fatt retired from the group, with Simon Pryce, Emma Watkins and Lachlan Gillespie joining.

Then in 2021, Emma decided to part ways with the Wiggles, which saw the introduction of a new members; Evie Ferris, Kelly Hamilton, Tsehay Hawkins and John Pearce.
