As mums we wear many hats – taxi driver, chef, cleaner, mediator, story teller, washer women – the list goes on!

But what would happen if you advertised your job of “mum” in the business world?

The creators of the video below did exactly that, and unsurprisingly, they received comments like “you’re cray” and “that’s inhumane”.

So it got us thinking … what job title and description would you write for your job as a “mum” if you were advertising it in the paid, working world?

SHARE with us your job title & description in the comments below.

  • Performer of many talents, master of none. There are way too many things that we parents do over the years, it would get impossible to put just one title on that!

  • People’s reactions to the ‘job description’ are priceless! I like other mums description as an engineer. I would also describe myself as a full time, over qualified, PA for a demanding boss aka baby.

  • ‘Lady of leisure’
take leisurely strolls down the to the part, stopping to look at every bug and twig, pick up leaves and rubbish along the way. Take client on a one hour to the park across the road.
prepare gourmet two minute noodles for the client and Porridge 3 times a day as client is allergic to any other foods. Dry porridge is especially yummy and a preferred meal, spend one hour picking up porridge from around the establishment and don’t complain about this as you can do squats and lunges as you work, pelvic floor ladies?!
speak only when you are spoken to and do not be concerned about your employer speaking to her BFF who no one has ever seen, said BFF will be in the shower with you and follow you to the toilet, this BFF also does most of the mess so unless you want to look like a freak talking to yourself, do not tell BFF off either!

  • Honestly I think that there is only one word to some up what mothers do and that is mum, there is no other word to describe everything you do, and why you do it.

  • I love this experiment! It is so true what we do as mothers and what our mothers did for us. The role of a mother has evolved into even more these days as mother’s now have to work to financially support or help with financially support their family. It seems to be more and more rare for women to be ‘stay-at-home mothers’ long term. So we are a mother, and work too….so the role is even more loaded up these days. I am a single mother and take my hat of to ALL mothers.
