Sydney’s Archie Rose distillery has created a spirit that tastes just like your morning toast and it’s hitting shelves this week!

Sydney based Archie Rose is known for its incredible selection of unique spirits and now it’s adding another one to the list. ‘Archiemite’ is their latest creation, blending the flavours of butter and sourdough to perfectly capture the comfort of ‘buttered toast’ in every glass. Would you give it a try?

A Taste Sensation

Master distiller Dave Withers said that the limited edition flavour will be a polarising addition. “It’s lots of fun,” he said in a statement. “It sits in this weird but interesting place. Trying to describe how it tastes is like trying to describe the colour blue. If you like that savoury flavour of yeast-extract spreads, you’ll really enjoy it.” Dave believes that this is definitely a spirit you need to try for yourself as it will taste different to each person. To celebrate the launch of Archiemite, the distillery will be hosting a number of brunches each weekend until the beginning of June where guests can sample specially created cocktails and enjoy a menu inspired by the spirit.

Mix n’ Match

Archie Rose recommends adding Archiemite to your Expresso Martini or even a Bloody Mary for a little extra something. The new spirit is set to be available from May 8th online and in-store, and will see 25kg of freshly churned butter and 15kg of sourdough combined to create a limited range of just 3000 bottles.

If you fancy trying Archie’s latest taste sensation, you better get in quick! It sounds like the perfect winter-appropriate addition to your next cocktail.

  • Ew, no way! If I felt like toast, I’ll make some. If I feel like a drink, I’ll have a drink. No way would I wish to combine the two

  • The picture on the bottle and the name suggest it would be vegemite toast flavour. Either way I won’t be rushing out to try that. Ever.
