The body of missing Belmont mum Carly McBride has been found almost two years after her disappearance.

Ms Mcbride, 32, was last seen on Calgaroo Avenue at around 2pm on Tuesday 30 September 2014 and police feared she had met with foul play.

The mother-of-two’s remains were discovered on Sunday near a property in Scone, in the Upper Hunter region of NSW, reports 7 NEWS.

Police have declared Ms McBride’s death suspicious and will address media on Thursday.

Strike Force Karabi had been established to locate the woman more than 12 months ago, which considered the possibility Ms Mcbride had been murdered.

More details to come…

  • I guess this is a good thing for loved ones, closure and all that. It would be like hearing she was gone all over again tho, I’m sure it’s opened some old wounds for family. Thoughts with you

  • Now her body has been found the family can have some closure indeed. But as long she wasn’t found they probably had some hope, which is gone now. They’ll still have probably lots of questions as to how, when and why she died. My heart is going out to them !

  • Now that her body has been found she can be laid to rest with her daughter.
Her family can grieve properly not just have more fear of where she is.
