Tiahleigh Palmer may not have been foster father's only victim

The accused killer and foster father of schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer may face other criminal charges.

Rick Thorburn, 56, was charged last week with murdering the 12-year-old girl after she disappeared in October last year.

Since then, it has emerged Thorburn faces other charges relating to two other young people, reports Daily Mail.

The news comes as police continue to scour the 56-year-old’s Chambers Flat two-hectare property, south of Brisbane, for Tiahleigh’s school uniform and backpack.

Police were also asked to investigate whether another girl who lived with Thorburn suffered any harm.

After Tialeigh’s disappearance in October 2015, child safety officials handed the police information about a teenager who was in Rick Thorburn’s care for a short period of time.

Child Safety Minister Shannon Fentiman told The Courier-Mail the girl who had been living at home is now an adult.

‘That individual’s details were given to the police immediately following Tiahleigh’s disappearance,’ she said.

The Courier-Mail also revealed the foster carer is facing charges relating to two other girls, aged 4 and 11.

They report Rick Thorburn came to police attention in April after a complaint was made about his conduct towards two young girls, aged 4 and 11.

Six days after the complaint was made, police charged him with nine offences relating to both children.

A police spokesman confirmed that ‘a number of children’ who had lived at the home were interviewed but refused to go into details.

Unfortunately in every case until the first report is lodged and investigated, the alledged has no record when a check is made.
No more foster children for this family and I hope all those still in his care were removed immediately.

No…. surely there has to be decent vetting to become a Foster parent. This family cannot possibly ever be given any more children to care for.

Good Lord…it just keeps getting worse.
Its so very said that these children who more then anything need to be in loving and caring environments and they are thrust into a home like this. Heartbreaking.

This beautiful girl should never been placed with these so called foster parents no matter what the home situation was its wasn’t the family that placed her with theses monsters it was the system and they should be held responsible considering this so called man already faces charges

This man is a disgrace for the Foster agencies and all foster carers who love and care for these more vulnerable kids ! Not only that, he’s a disgrace for the human race !
Hope justice will be done and the weight of his sin will be heavy on his shoulders.

Foster carers, how sickening! You would think that they do extensive criminal background checks, how were these people allowed to care for children in the first place!

I would absolutely go back and check on anyone that had been left in the care of that family!
