Vodka. Social lubricant, liquid courage, and a mums knight in glass armour. A Vodka and lemonade is a fantastic way for a busy mum to unwind and have some down time to herself.

However, vodka has some other strange uses which you may not be aware of, here are 6 strange uses for vodka.

1. Shine your fixtures

Chrome, glass and porcelain fixtures can be a nightmare to clean streak free. However, with our good old friend vodka, a beautiful shine can be achieved in nearly no time at all! Simply dab a microfibre cloth with some vodka, and clean away.

2. Preserve flowers

We all get given flowers that we really don’t want to die. To keep them looking fresher a little longer, simply add a few drops of vodka and a tablespoon of sugar to the water. This will keep our flowers nice and perky! Change the water and ingredients daily for best results.

3. Soothe Jellyfish stings

The majestic jellyfish, so beautiful, yet so darn freaky. These critters are just floating around waiting to shake your hand. If they manage to do this, it can be quite painful! To soothe the sting of the jellyfish, simply pour a small amount of vodka over the sting to disinfect and soothe.

4. Clean and kill mould

Mould, the antagonist of the bathroom. The Lex luther to your bathrooms shine. If you are sick and tired of having mould creep into your home, and haven’t had great success with the cleaners from the shops, simply try using some bottom shelf vodka. Add this to a spray bottle, spray onto the mould and let sit for 15 minutes. Scrub away with a scourer.

5. Calm a tooth ache

If you have a sore tooth, your first stop should be the dentist. In the meantime however, to calm your nerves and disinfect the area, swish some vodka around in your mouth as you would mouthwash.

6. Super charge your shampoo

Vodka is very good at making you Perceive yourself and others as being more beautiful. However, vodka can actually give you shinier and better looking hair. Simply add some vodka to your shampoo, and clean away.
