Cardboard desk organiser

Such an easy project that your kids can help you with. Let them chose the colours and help you paint the egg carton and toilet rolls and they will be inspired to keep their desk tidy. Great with the start of term 4 of school.

Material

1 egg carton
12 toilet paper rolls
assorted paints, sticky tape, paintbrushes.

Method

Cut the egg carton in two and keep the lid.
Paint the toilet rolls in the colours you want - we chose rainbow colours. Paint the base of the egg carton as well. Let dry.
When dry, sticky tape the toilet rolls to the base of the egg carton and to each other (by double siding the tape) for added stability.
Let your child add their stationary in.

Notes

Sparkle it up by adding stickers or glitter glue if you like.

Looks great – very effective with the bright colours. How long do you think it will hold together with a 3 yr old? Maybe in a few years I can do this one 🙁

  Super easy and the kids can paint and recycle at the same time! Best of, when they get sick of it, just paint it again or recycle it. Save the planet from plastic!!

This idea is wonderful, not only is it cost effective but little ones can share in the joy of making it from start to finish and feel proud of it.

Tried this with my youngest sister, it was so much fun to make and really easy to make as well she aboustly loved it, she says her room is more colourful well being organized at the same time.

What a great idea! My students had to create a useable classroom item out of recyclable materials – this is a perfect example to show them!
