Make playdough at home with this quick and easy recipe.


Material

  • 2 cups Plain Flour
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Cream of tartar
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • Food colouring (optional)

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the saucepan
  3. Remove from saucepan and allow to cool before use.

Notes

Store in an airtight container

  • This was my favourite recipe to make for the kids playdough when they were little. Lasts really well if stored in a zip lock bag with the air expelled.

  • You can also just mix it in a bowl & use 2 cups boiled water (from the kettle) instead of using the saucepan. Can be a on the warm side when you start kneading though. Also have some extra flour on hand to roll/knead the dough in until it is ready & not sticky. Try adding glitter for a sparkly touch.
