Awkward Christmas Portraits Are A Festive Family Must-Do

If traditional family photos just aren’t your thing, this year ditch Santa for a throwback awkward Christmas portrait.

We’ve all seen them. They’ve usually been taken in the 70s and 80s and are awash with gaudy Christmas clothing, incredible hairstyles and less-than-festive faces.

This year Melbourne’s Studio on Hampton is offering awkward Christmas portrait sessions at a pop-up right up until Christmas eve.

The 30 minute sessions include three take-home prints and instant digitals for up to four people for $80. And you can bring your pet along if you like, because awkward isn’t just for humans.

While you are welcome to bring your own clothing for the shoot, the studio does also have Christmas clothes and props and you’re welcome to use them in your session.

Christmas is about the only time all four of us are in the same photo as it’s usually one of us adults taking a pic of the kids with the other parent.
Loving the retro look, hopefully it makes its way to Sydney one day.

I love the photos recreating old family photos, classic.
We made sure to buy some matching Christmas PJs for babies first Christmas. I got the summer suitable ones from Best and Less. It’s too hot for anything but a nighty in Qld right now!

  I suspect a quick photo if wearing jumpers. We tend to go with t-shirts; much cooler in Summer weather.

Lol my daughter is pretty good at not sitting for a professional photo. It comes naturally to her lol ????
